2021 SEIMA Hall of Fame Ceremony and Concert Tickets Now Available
The Southeastern Indiana Musicians Association(SEIMA) announces its annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony and Concert will be taking place on Saturday November 6th 2021 at the Gibson Theater in Batesville 6pm. The awards show will feature live performances and a night of story-telling by hosts and inductees. This year’s event will feature performances by local favorites My Brother’s Keeper, along with a special performance by Rachel Holt. This year’s ceremony also marks a special celebration inducting musicians from both the class of 2020 and 2021.
The 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees are: Educators: Dennis Bourquein, Sylvester John Bartling, Bynum and Shirley Henson, Doug Sykes, and Monte Dole and Musicians: Dale Davidson, Jay Tucker, Jeff Workman, Ric Wright, Rob Ashcraft, and Tim Woods.
The 2021 Hall of Fame Inductees are: Musicians: Brian and Ann Coleman, John Craft, Dave Davies, and Dan Gutapfel. “This event is a celebration of local music and a tremendous opportunity to increase community awareness and support of local music and our organization,” said Brian DeBruler (SEIMA board member).
In addition to its annual Hall of Fame inductions promoting the area’s rich musical heritage, SEIMA has made tremendous strides working through the pandemic shutdowns of 2020 and throughout 2021 recently donating a drum set to the Milan High School music department. SEIMA was also recently awarded its first ever grant from Matinee Musicale Cincinnati, to officially launch their SEIMA Project for 2022. The SEIMA Project is a local music endowment grant to help inspire young musicians ages 14-19 looking to further a career in music. The SEIMA Project will present its first recipient awards in 2022. Proceeds from the event go to the fund, and continued efforts to promote local music awareness, local music appreciation and music education efforts for the future of local music in each of the 5 counties they represent, Dearborn, Ripley, Franklin, Ohio, and Switzerland.
